MIMIKYU
❝ Rose ❞

Ability: Disguise
Nature: Lonely
Characteristic: highly curious
Met At: Galactic Base, Veilstone City (?)

Named after the rosy cheeks that she has on the face of her costume. She has a small pink scarf wrapped around the neck of her costume, courtesy of Camilla. After visiting the Pokemon Research Center in Sandgem Town, Eustace now knows that Rose's species is called Mimikyu, and that Mimikyu wear their costumes to resemble another Pokemon. He's also now fully aware of why she hasn't let him see under the costume... It's unfortunate but it's for the best, and he's thankful that she was protecting him from a potentially terrible fate.

Rose is basically the textbook definition of a mournful spirit, though it's not exactly intentional. She's prone to wallowing and distancing herself from others. The only person she's not this way with is Eustace whom she cares a great deal for, but she's practically clingy with him like she's afraid he'll ditch her or something. Even though she's a little antisocial, her insatiable curiosity shows she's not opposed to company. She's just really awkward about showing it. She often pokes around where she doesn't belong and even has a tendency of startling others by looming rather than announcing her presence- something that would probably be appreciated considering her appearance. She's desperate for friends, but her demeanor works against her.

She's fiercely protective of her ragged Pikachu costume, and has a fear of fire because one little ember could destroy it. While she's a curious creature, she's very adamant that no one looks under her costume or tries to remove it.

MIGHTYENA
❝ Pup ❞

Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Bold
Characteristic: strong willed
Met At: Lake Valor (hatched from egg)

Hatched from an egg that Eustace received from the townspeople of Pastoria City. Particularly notable is the fact that his birth occurred in the vicinity of Azelf, the Being of Willpower. A lover of dogs, Eustace inwardly feels blessed to have Pup in his life. It was a dream of his to have a dog of his own, but for the longest time animals always seemed frightened of him. He's determined to earn Pup's trust early.

Pup has come a long way in terms of personality...not to mention now that he's evolved, his name doesn't quite fit. Completely devoid of emotion when he hatched, he's now developed a very good sense of determination. He's not afraid to take on any challenge, and puts 110% into everything he does. He's very protective of Eustace and the other Pokemon on his team- he's basically the big brother that you do not want to get on the bad side of. In moments of peace, Pup is your average playful pup and lap dog (despite his size). It makes the swap to Protective Mode a pretty jarring one.

ELECTIVIRE
❝ Bolt ❞

Ability: Motor Drive
Nature: Hardy
Characteristic: proud of its power
Met At: Snowpoint City

While helping around town during the extended stay in Snowpoint City, Eustace investigated a homeowner's electricity issue. For some reason, their power kept going out- but only periodically. He eventually found the culprit: an Elekid who had been sneaking around and feeding off of an electrical outlet. After a lengthy battle with Rose to shoo him off, the Elekid relented. But rather than moving on to find electrical food elsewhere, he chose to follow Eustace instead. Eustace can't say he expected to capture a Pokemon this way, but since he is used to wielding electricity with Flamek Thunder, it is nice to have an Electric-type around.

Bolt is a great battler, packing quite a bit of stamina for such a small Pokemon. He's willing to put up with harsh conditions like the cold of Snowpoint City without much complaint, and he even participates in Eustace's personal training sessions. He seems to put a lot of stock in physical prowess, and shows respect for those who best him in battle. He has a tendency of wearing himself out though, and needs a good deal of electrical sustenance to keep his power up. This can get tricky on the road due to the lack of electrical sources, and requires Eustace to spend extra money on portable chargers like batteries.

Eustace and Chelsea evolved their Electabuzz together. Now that Bolt is almost as tall as Eustace, he's developed a penchant for picking his trainer up. Since the Electivire is a lot stronger, Eustace doesn't stand much of a chance at resisting it.

REMORAID
❝ Trigger ❞

Ability: Sniper
Nature: Hasty
Characteristic: thoroughly cunning
Met At: Sandgem Town

Eustace captured this fish after witnessing his skill of shooting water in the way one would fire a gun- and with amazing accuracy at that. Eustace expected Bolt's battle with it to be a quick one, but Trigger put up quite the fight despite his major type disadvantage. Looking for more members to add to his team, he finds Trigger to be a very good addition. He just needs to keep in mind that bodies of water are the best places to have Trigger out of his ball. He now keeps a bucket on hand for Trigger to be in during feeding time.

Trigger is an excellent marksman, capable of hitting targets with his water bullets even at a good distance. But he's...well, for a lack of better term, pretty trigger happy. He's sometimes a little too into what he does and goes overboard with attacking his opponents. He's a pretty good strategist and sneaky in the water, but when he's going off the rails like that, he leaves himself open for counterattacks. Thankfully, Eustace is able to get him back on track easily enough, but those moments can be make or break in a battle so he's trying to get Trigger to break this habit.

RHYDON*
❝ Quake ❞

Ability: Rock Head
Nature: Docile
Characteristic: likes to run
Met At: Oreburgh Mine

Eustace came across a uniquely colored Rhyhorn during his exploration of the mines of Oreburgh City. He'd read about how great Rhyhorn are for transportation, and having a Ground-type on his team sounded like a great idea to him. He didn't actually realize she had a unique coloration due to the lack of light in the mines. She's slower now that she's a Rhydon, but she packs some serious power.

For such an intimidating-looking Pokemon, Quake is super chill and far more interested in moving around than battling. Good luck actually agitating her, but maybe don't purposefully push her buttons unless you want a punch to the face...or worse, find yourself at the mercy of her horn. It took her a while to warm up to the idea of anyone or anything riding on her back, but once she realized that Eustace also likes the sensation of racing around, she was a lot more on board. It's a little trickier for her to carry her trainer or any other Pokemon hitching a ride after her evolution, but her increased mobility of having flexible arms is a decent trade-off for that.
